If you are an organizer, in this article, you can learn what analytics of attendees' behavior we can provide and how to get the data. Additionally, you can learn how to use Google Analytics.
All the analytics can be found on the Analytics page.
What are the key metrics
Views: total number of exhibitors, booth, and category views plus the number of floor plan loads
Loads: number of times the floor plan was opened
Sessions: number of periods of activity on your site from individual users. A session is defined by Google Analytics as "a single period of user interaction with your app . . . which includes screen views, events, and e-commerce transactions." All such interactions received within 30 minutes of one another are grouped into the same session. One user can have multiple sessions (especially if the floor plan is used in a kiosk).
Users: number of unique users
You can click each statistic to show new data. All times are UTC.
Below the graph, there are more analytics:
Top searches (including top routes): what users searched for on the floor plan; what were the most popular routes with origins and destinations.
Top exhibitors (including top POIs and top categories): what companies, categories, and spaces attracted the most attention.
Clicking on Details expands the full list.
How to change report parameters
By default, data is shown for the past seven days. Clicking on this field allows you to change the timeframe.
Filtering by page allows you to see statistics on a particular exhibitor or booth.
All the data displayed can be exported as a zipped folder containing CSV files.
Data collected by ExpoFP can be found in our privacy policy.
How to visualize the heatmap
The heatmap allows you to visualize the relevance of points of interest (POIs) across the floor plan. A list on the left shows the number of clicks each POI has received. At the same time, the floor plan uses shaded POIs to represent engagement levels — darker shades indicate higher activity.
This feature highlights the most popular and frequently clicked booths, providing valuable insights to optimize booth placement and event layout.
Go to Analytics - Heatmap to see an embedded heatmap representation. Click View Full Map to see a full-screen version.
Kiosk and QR heatmaps
Similarly to the booths heatmap, you can see the heatmap of your kiosks and You Are Here QR-codes.
Using Google Analytics
Using Google Analytics will allow you to see useful information such as which exhibitors are more popular, what pages and booths get clicked on, etc. Organizers and exhibitors can both benefit from collecting attendee activity.
Google Analytics can track important data from your attendees:
Clicks on your expo URL, booths, exhibitor profiles, and categories
Clicks on the phone number, email, website, social media, galleries, and action buttons
Locations, languages, devices, OS, and browsers of your attendees
In case of any questions regarding the Google Analytics interface, please use the Google Help Center.
Here is the algorithm for using Google Analytics for your floor plan
You will need to create an account with Google Analytics. Set it to measure a website and add https://expofp.com as the website URL.
You will get a tracking ID.
If you already have a Google Analytics account, you can find your ID in Property Settings.
Then, go to your Floor plan settings on the Dashboard
and insert your ID in the field Google Analytics ID.
Please note that tracking starts after you add the ID to the plan. It won't show what was going on before.
