When you create a floor plan with us, you have several options to choose from. You can select a venue template from our library or a sample venue or start from scratch. After that, you'll get redirected to the Designer . We always strive to keep it (and the rest of our backend) as user-friendly as possible. So whether you are familiar with graphic design applications or are using one for the first time, you can still create an entire plan yourself. Please note that all the trials are currently limited to 100 points of interest (POIs).

Don't worry about creating the wrong object or deleting the right one — you can always undo your changes and go back to the previously saved version. If you get stuck with your designs, chat with us via the chat button or schedule a Zoom meeting.

The first steps might differ depending on the selected venue; we'll cover them below. Our main designer tutorial explaining the tools is here.

And, as always, you can skip all this and delegate design to our team.

Working with the venue template

With the selected venue template, your Designer will look like this:

Create booths

Templates don't come with sample booths. Zoom in to the necessary hall and start dragging and dropping your booths. The grey booth icon is commonly used for regular booths/stands, while the green ones are for other spaces such as stages, conference rooms, etc.

See the grid

The grid, which will help you correctly align the booths and other objects, is "hidden" behind the halls. To see it:

  • Click Layers & elements and hide the area map from the Designer view by clicking the eye symbol

  • Click on the hall and change its opacity (for example, to 0.2)

Now, you can see the grid to create other booths. Make sure you've selected the correct measurement unit (m/ft). On the view, you'll still see the area map and halls correctly.

Set the viewbox

By default, you'll see the entire venue on the view. It's recommended to set the viewbox to see your hall first. It will be zoomed in automatically when the plan is loaded, and when you zoom out, you can see the rest of the venue and the area map.

  • Click Layers & elements again and click the eye and lock symbols next to the viewbox layer to see and edit it.

  • You'll see the rectangle around the venue. Click on it and change its size to cover your hall(s).

Don't forget to save your changes.

Working with the sample venue

With the sample venue, you start with sample booths and stages, so you can modify the existing layout instead of starting from scratch. Check the main Designer tutorial or click around to see and edit booth properties, sizes, names, etc.

Working with the blank venue

With the blank venue, you start with nothing but a grid. In the front view, your floor plan will also be empty, so create some booths first.
